Hello, I am Iris Bothe, City Councilor for Youth, Education and Integration in the City of Wolfsburg and a HELPING PEOPLE!
Everyone has a right to education - right from the start of life. We are putting this credo into practice in Wolfsburg, even in economically difficult years. Almost every second euro of the municipal budget is invested in lifelong education, because the amount of knowledge and skills that children acquire through play in their first years of life is huge - and crucial for their later school careers. So many children around the world do not have the opportunity to attend kindergarten or school, they have to go to work and help feed their families.
As a city councilor for integration, I have for many years experienced people seeking refuge and immigrants who come to Germany for different reasons, but they have one thing in common: the hope for a safe life and a better future for their children.
In Wolfsburg, I can get involved in a concrete way and shape the content. What excites me about the HELPING PEOPLE foundation is the fact that I can help shape and promote global project ideas through my connection to the foundation's board of directors. HELPING PEOPLE focuses on the power of people who make a difference for people. And that's exactly why I'm involved!
